Mixing Up the Collection Again for Fun

Or another example of daughter's and dad's collections getting mixed up.

Inspiration

One of the earliest inspirations was when I found this jigsaw puzzle on Ebay. It is from Waddington Enterprises in the UK...the puzzle was only sold there. The date on the box is 1978 and it is a simple diorama of the first set of vintage Star Wars figures.

Go Blackhawks! Stanley Cup Champs!

I've been missing in action for 3 months now. Can't believe my last post was on April 17th. Started a new job and just got overwhelmed. Since then, however, my hometown Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup. To celebrate, I pulled out the McFarlane exclusive hockey rink which measures about 6 feet by 4 feet, and put up all the McFarlane Blackhawks figures. Jonathan Toews, Stan Mikita, Jocelyn Thiebault, Tony Esposito, Nikolai Khabibulin, Chris Chelios, Bobby Orr, Tony Amonto and Bobby Hull. Way to go Blackhawks!

Uncanny X-Men 136 Cover

I wanted to recreate this great cover with the 12 inch Marvel Icons figures that came out from Hasbro over the last few years. A great line of toys. Too bad sales dried up because they overproduced Daredevil. Nightcrawler and Dark Phoenix were almost impossible to find in retail.

Great use for a Terminator Harvester

After ridding the planet of humans, Skynet can think of no better way of eliminating those pesky blue Smurfs than unleashing a Harvester on them.

Iron Man faces a new Challenge

Tony Stark escapes from the clutches of the Ten Rings in the Iron Man movie and crash lands in the mideast desert....only to face a new nightmare. Scavengers!

Been wanting to do this one for a long time. Used the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark I and six of the six inch Jawas. Priceless!

Star Wars TIE Bombers

Been wanting to do this one for a long time....ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars Galactic Heroes: Episodes 1-2-3

Tried doing all the Star Wars figures together and then broke them up into trilogies. Here are the figures from Episodes 1, 2 and 3. Haven't even unpackaged the Cinema Scenes yet.

Marvel Superhero Squad

A decent collection. I did not put all the multiple Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Spiderman and Wolverine figures in this display. Probably have 25 Wolverines because one comes with every pack. I may have to break this down next time into Avengers, X-Men, etc.

Hasbro Heroies - "Heroines"

The ladies from Marvel's Superhero Squad, Star Wars Galactic Heroes, Indiana Jones Adventure Heroes and G.I. Joe's Combat Heroes.

G.I. Joe Combat Heroes Collection

It was one of those afternoons where I had a few hours to myself. Pulled out all the Hasbro "Heroes" collections and shot some photos of the different collections.

The first one is the G.I. Joe Combat Heroes figures - both the vintage Real American Hero and the Rise of Cobra movie figures. First time I put the army of Cobra troopers (vintage and new) together.

End of a long weekend.

Mom and dad need a break.

Toy Fair 2010: Mattel

No photographs allowed. Bummed cause wanted to bring back some photos of Barbie and Disney Princesses for my little girl. However, there was a display of the Barbie Black Basics line. I've seen this at Target. It's sold out. Grab them if you can.

Toy Fair 2010: Big Freakin Plane

This was a 1:18 scale F-14 fighter jet by Merit Toys. It was HUGE! Retails for about $249. It was about two feet long. Detailing was incredible, down to the turbines in the jet engine.

Toy Fair 2010: Educational and Plush

Saw some cool plush animal dealers at Toy Fair. Here are a few. Lubies and Apple.

Toy Fair 2010: Barbie's New Occupation

There was a contest to see what new occupation Barbie would take on this year. Two large billboards outside the Javitz Center had some possibilities. The final result was "Computer Engineer." Welcome to the world of off-shoring Barbie.

Toy Fair 2010: Where the Wild Things Are

These PVC figures were about 12 inches tall each. Incredible detail. They were in the Diamond Select booth. Think they retail about $35 each.

Toy Fair 2010: NECA Miscellaneous

The new Jonah Hex movie, Terminator, Predator, Clash of the Titans and Harry Potter.

Toy Fair 2010: NECA Gears of War

Nice new NECA lineup for Gears of War along with a great diorama set up. Series 6 should have some awesome Locust bad guys.
