As I was completing my MEGO Black Hole collection, I ended up purchasing a carded Dan Holland instead of a loose one. He was hard to find loose, and the carded one was only slightly more than the loose. Yes, I opened it. Interestingly, there was yellow coloration on the figure and the joints were really loose. I didn't think the joints would deteriorate like that, but I guess you learn something new every day.
I can't remember where I saw it, but I vaguely recall someone opening up a Star Wars figure from one of the original lines that had loose joints as well. I suspect that since it isn't talked about more often, it must be a fairly rare occurrence.
