More Washington Capitals love. Originally from Chicago, but have lived in DC for 13 years. Thoroughly enjoyed the Caps Stanley Cup win. Purchased these awhile ago when I was celebrating the three Blackhawks Stanley Cup wins. Dreaming of a Caps - Blackhawks Stanley Cup Final.

Braden Holtby - The Save - Stanley Cup Finals

The net was wide open. Braden Holtby, goalie for the Washington Capitals lunged to his right and blocked the point blank shot with his stick. The Caps would go on the win the Stanley Cup this year and that Save was the defining moment.

I stopped collecting hockey figures once McFarlane stopped making them. Dragon Imports filled the void. After the Stanley Cup win, I looked for any Washington figures. I know Ovechkin is popular. Was happy to see Holtby.

The funny thing was - he arrived with his head off. Holtby never lost his head in the playoffs.

Though I grew up in Chicago and am a fan of all things Chicago sports, I have rooted for the DC teams since I've been here for 12 years. Though the team has been inconsistent, I think Kirk Cousins has done a fantastic job for the Redskins. Here is the chase variant figure of Kirk. I didn't realize the base included his famous post game rant quote.

The book contains packaged and loose close up photos of most of the Washington Capitals, Nationals, Redskins, and Wizards from McFarlane Toys. It also includes Kenner's Starting Lineup figures for the Washington Bullets of the NBA.

McFarlane Washington Capitals

First of all, the exclusive McFarlane Collector's Club hockey rink. This thing is huge. Think I mentioned that with the Blackhawks diorama. On the ice, Jaromir Jagr, Olaf Kolzig in goal and four versions of Alex Ovechkin, including variant jerseys. Missing is the rare EAST All Star Jersey Ovechkin. Another Ovechkin figure is coming this winter, as well as a Nicholas Backstrom.

McFarlane Washington Redskins

LaVar Arrington, Stephen Davis, John Riggins, Clinton Portis. The rare Stephen Davis 70th Anniversary Redskins uniform is a prized possession. Missing is the Portis from the Portis-Ray Lewis 2-Pack. Same pose, normal uniform. Looking forward to Donovan McNabb figure coming in the September release.
