TIMME Galaxy Laser Team 5 Inch Repros

I remember buying a bag of these as a kid from a 7-11. Loved the characters, especially the bug man. These repros can be bought at www.victorybuy.com for $15.80. The only bummer is they didn't include the female character.

Holy Grail - One of Many - Star Wars Imperial Cruiser

I loved the Imperial Troop Transport from Kenner when it came out after Episode IV - A New Hope. Not shown on screen, it was an imaginative addition to the Star Wars universe. I don't know what happened to the original I owned, and I bought and later sold a boxed one years later.

What I didn't know about was the Empire Strikes Back version of this great vehicle. I love everything Hoth, so this new addition was long awaited. Love the display of Snowtroopers capturing the rebel soldiers on Hoth.

The interesting piece about this version was the lack of electronics. The original had an electronic mechanism, powered by a battery, which would produce six distinctive character voices or sounds from the movie. This version did not have that, making it cheaper to produce and much lighter than its original counterpart.

6 Inch Marx Germans

These are all repros (so very inexpensive) and very cool 6 inch figures of German WWII soldiers. For some reason, I always thought the sculpts of the Marx German soldiers were very good; maybe because the details are sharp with the white or grey plastic, versus the dark green plastic of most American plastic toy soldiers.

Nazi Zombies! Hell Yes!

No love for the Nazis, but if you are going to fight evil, might as well fight a double dose. I found these plastic army men bags of Zombies at War on Amazon. 35 figures, half grey Nazis, half green GIs. Let the battle begin.

Funko Sci-Fi Mini Figures

I love Funko's mini-fig blind bags, especially the Walking Dead ones. The Big Bang Theory ones were cool too, but they were smaller. Game of Thrones was cool but felt hollow - so they seemed cheaper. The Walking Dead set the standard.

So when I found out the Sci-Fi ones were similar size and density and grabbed one, I had to have them all. Well, I don't have them all, but here are the ones I do have (pictured below).

Figures not shown here include Predator with green blood, Invisible Predator, Alien, Metallic Alien, ET, Spock, Mars Attacks, Mal from Firefly, Rocketeer, and Judge Dredd.

MegaBloks Call of Duty Nuketown

Even though everything is announced on the internet months before it arrives at stores, I just haven't made the habit yet of routinely looking at the Megabloks.com website. Maybe I should. Although, maybe I shouldn't because then you get wicked cool surprises like this when you walk into a Walmart while traveling on business. Honestly, I would never walk into a Walmart near my house during normal business hours. This one I hit as I pull into town in the early morning when the dregs of humanity haven't shown up yet. I am not talking about everyone, but damn, it is a genetic bouillabaisse in that place every time I walk in.

I digress - the latest MegaBloks set I found was this Nuketown set which shows a 1950s "test town" where the military and government used to see what a nuke would do to your average suburban town. Included in the set are a 50s suburban house, some type of clock tower (counting down the nuke's arrival?), two CoD soldiers, and two mannequins - which used to be placed in the nuke towns.

So cool - can't wait to build this one.

A Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

I am thoroughly enjoying the renaissance of new 3-3/4" action figures from Super 7's ReAction line, along with some great ones from Bif Bang Pow (Twilight Zone and Big Bang Theory). In keeping with the retro line, thought I'd have them hang out at the vintage cantina.
