When Kenner Star Wars Returned in 1995
When Kenner returned with Star Wars in 1995, I immediately pulled out my vintage ones and displayed the new ones. This was my entire collection at the time.
I don't. The latex eventually dried up and it cracked. His head actually fell off at the end. I kept him in my office at work for a long time. He was often kidnapped and ransomed by employees.
I have some pictures of me from 1995 and 1996 (in 6th grade) with my POTF2 figures and the few vintage Star Wars items I had at the time as well. I took the pictures thinking I'd probably send them in to Star wars Galaxy magazine or something, but never did.
Yep. I didn't even care at first. It was so great to have new figures. At the time, I didn't fathom that they would make figures of characters other than the original 93. Wait? What? They're doing Tarkin, Slave Leia, Dagobah Luke! Mind blown.
That my friend, is a 286. It was issued to us my freshmen year in college in August of 1989. Shortly after taking this picture, I tried to sell the computer at a pawn shop near Fort Benning. The guy laughed me out of the store. At the time, I really didn't know how fast computers became obsolete.
I love seeing older photos featuring people's collections from certain time periods. Do you still have that giant Yoda?

ReplyDeleteAwesome. You should post them. I wish I would have taken more photos back in the day but that meant dropping off 35mm film at the store.
DeleteI remember being so excited there were new Star Wars toys and at the same time wondering why they were all on steroids.

DeleteNice and neat. That Yoda looks real lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Still can't believe I purchased that back in the day. I have pictures of friends putting beer bottles in his hands when we had parties.
