McFarlane Walking Dead Series 8

The long awaited Series 8 Walking Dead set from McFarlane toys has finally landed. No zombies in this one - all main characters! And what a lineup it is. The series includes Terminus Rick, Bob Stookey, Dale Horvath, Eugene Porter, and Morgan Jones. Nice to see Dale whose untimely demise we witnessed in Season 2. Now if only we could get his RV as a playset. Also happy to see T-Dog coming in Series 9.

Bob and Eugene are short packed so they are hard to find. Grab 'em if you see 'em.

Morgan can also be purchased as a box set with first ever female zombie. This box set recreates some of Morgan's traps from the "Clear" episode in Season 3.

McFarlane NFL Series 35 and 36

Once again, it's been awhile since my NFL McFarlane collection received any attention. Series 36 just came out, and amazingly, I actually bypassed Series 35. So I had to backtrack via Clarktoys and get 35 along with the Sammy Watkins exclusive. After 36 series, Sammy is only the third Buffalo Bill player ever made - besides Drew Bledsoe and Willis McGahee.

The Seattle Seahawks used to be in the same boat - having only Shaun Alexander and Matthew Hasselback representing the team. How times have changed. With two straight Super Bowl appearances, Seattle seems to be making up for their lack of figures. Since last year, there have been two versions of QB Russell Wilson, a Marshawn Lynch exclusive, a Richard Sherman, and soon to be arriving Jimmy Graham from Series 37.

Anyway - a great lineup.

Marvel Legends Age of Ultron Target Exclusive 3 Pack

Marvel Legends delivers another great set of characters from the Age of Ultron movie (Kind of) - which is exclusive to Target.

This awesome set includes Ultron, Hulk and a phasing white Vision. The phasing white Vision is the best figure of this set.

Gentle Giant Jumbo Kenner - Star Wars Droids R2D2

Earlier in the year, at Star Wars Celebration VII, Gentle Giant released the 12 inch replica of C3PO from the DROIDS cartoon of the mid-80s. GG followed that up at San Diego Comic Con with his counterpart R2D2.

It is not just a repaint of the original, since Droids R2 has the lightsaber inserted in his dome.

GG also released a Droids Boba Fett at SDCC. Pretty cool addition to the Jumbo Kenner collection.

Gentle Giant Jumbo Kenner Admiral Ackbar and Princess Leia as Boushh Bounty Hunter

Gentle Giant has a real knack for delaying products and then sending everything at once, so that your wallet feels the pain 10-fold. One day I receive an email stating Ackbar, Boushh, Wicket, Logray and Ugnaught are all being processed at once. Nice - anyway - I held off on a few but did want to get two of my all time favorites - Admiral Ackbar and Princess Leia in Boushh disguise.

I haven't taken them out of the packaging yet. I've heard via collector's forums that the Boushh helmet is hard vinyl. The original Kenner figure was a soft helmet. It was one of the first helmets for the vintage Kenner line and made the figure even cooler.

It's Time to Rock 'N Roll

Finally - Gentle Giant's second GI Joe: A Real American Hero retro jumbo figure is here. Unlike the first figure - Grunt - who was an SDCC exclusive and came in a foot locker, Rock'N Roll comes in a retro card just like the Star Wars jumbos.  The sculpting is dead on, and the card art is perfect. Looking forward to Stalker, Snake-Eyes and Zap, coming up next. Curious when they will announce the next release - C'mon Flash, Short Fuze and Scarlett.
