The Year of Joe - August

I started off with a Grunt. And ended there. This completes Series 1 (except for the Cobras) - all but Steeler and Clutch are straight arms. I never purchased Grunt before. Every time he is in the cart, I just think he is boring, but hey, Grunts are the warriors of the army.

Budget has been diverted by unexpected finds of Star Wars and Marvel Legends (including the Haslab Sentinel), scouring Ebay for Popco Harry Potter and Bridge Direct Hobbit figures. Will have updates on the Classified Series soon.   And also saving my pennies for some larger vintage purchases in the future.

Mighty World Military

Another discovery in an old storage box. I remember these being sold at Target....Mighty World. Anyway, I purchased the few that had a military theme to it. These didn't last long but they were cool.

I had to search on Ebay because I couldn't even remember the actual series name. Yep, Mighty World.

Kermit Jones - Muppets

Palisades Muppets came out with this exclusive of Kermit as an Indiana Jones type adventurer. I stumbled across this in a storage box this week. Not sure if I should put with Muppets or Indiana Jones collection.  Still, lots of fun.

Jurassic World Maisie Figure - Rare

This figure of Maisie was released a long time ago, but it was very hard to find. I never came across it, until now. Pure luck it was sitting with all the other JP/JW figures. It also comes with a huge dinosaur skull. Glad I finally found this one.

Imaginext Mummies

I bought these awhile ago. I don't usually collect Imaginext but I appreciate the design. However, anything to do with ancient Egypt and mummies catches my attention.  The female figure is from Jurassic World but fits right in.

The gold sarcophagus is kind of cool. When you close it, it "transforms" the captive into a mummy by snapping the mummy face/chest piece on.

Star Wars Black Series - Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary - Wave 3

Once again, this was a "I'm searching for the Target exclusive GI Joe Classified Series and I came across this." It was a full set of Wave 3 Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary carded Black Series figures.

Four of the five were repacks including Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Snowtrooper, and Boba Fett. I was happy about Snowtrooper and Boba Fett but we already had a 40th Anniversary figure Darth Vader and Chewbacca with the "New Hope" collection. Would have been cool if Chewbacca was covered in snow for a new look.  Oh well. Heck, put some snow on Vader's boots and make him a Hoth Vader.

The "new" figure was Dagobah Training Luke. Looking forward to opening this up and putting him together with Dagobah R2 and Yoda.

Old Soldiers Never Die. Your Mom Threw Them Away.

I saw this poster at someone's house back in 1997. I managed to buy one at the GI Joe convention in 2000 in Irvine, CA. It sat in a cardboard tube until now. I finally had it framed. It is a large poster. Now I just need to hang it on the wall.

Marvel Legends Havok and Polaris

Inspired by the Strong Guy BAF completion, I felt compelled to get some more X-Men I had seen hanging out at Gamestop. Snagged the Havok and Polaris two pack. Been eyeing this for awhile. Always liked both characters and it was a nice set with costumes from the 90s, an era which I mostly missed due to college and first jobs.
