OMG - The Backyard Battalion Lands - And They're Awesome!

I enjoy surfing the toy posts and dioramas I see on Instagram. About a year ago, I came across the account of Reis O'Brien, a veteran of the toy industry. He's designed a lot of Funko Pops and Mini-figs. About a year ago, he was designing some toy soldiers - basically kids, like you and me when we were young, armed with pots and pans, and wiffle ball bats as weapons. He called them the Backyard Battalion. Well, then he got them manufactured, and they just arrived. I ordered some sets of green and tan. And they are fantastic. Each bag includes a playmat. The playmats are different for the green and tan and they connect. The back of the cardboard top includes a cut out tent to add to the diorama (either HQ or Medical tent). These are so much fun. Had a hard time waiting for these. Can't wait to see what he cooks up next with Series 2 - he has also mentioned snow days and water balloon fights series as well. Limited to 500 sets, grab them now.

Each bag has 14 figures and costs $15 or $28 for the two color set bundle.

King and Country Battle of the Bulge Diorama

During the Christmas holidays, I purchased a few more of the new Battle of the Bulge figures and created a diorama with some foam, and snow covered pines I've had for a few years. It was a lot of fun, and I hope to expand the diorama next December. Also purchased some German - need some enemy combatants.
