Dragon - Duel at Stalingrad 1/6 Scale Joes

Dragon's products during the 2000s was a track record that would be difficult to break. The sheer number of 1/6th scale military figures was astounding as well as their level of detail. The price point at first wasn't too bad. About $40 a figure. Like everything else, it crept up and if you were a completist, you were soon overwhelmed.

This set was released shortly after the movie Enemy at the Gates came out in 2001. It starred Jude Law and Ed Harris as Soviet and German snipers, respectively, battling it out during the Battle of Stalingrad. The figures of course, bear their likeness.

Great set. One day I will take them out and display them as well.

Russian Collusion - Part 2 - 1:18 Scale Tank and Transport Truck

As I mentioned earlier with my Soviet BRDM posting, I was looking for GI Joe scaled Russian vehicles, especially modern era T-80 type tanks. I found nothing. Then one day I found an Ebay seller selling plastic Russian vehicles at near 1:18 scale from Russia of course. They are very cheap, and they are very sturdy plastic - once again, think Timmee tanks and trucks from the 70s and 80s. Simple design and very rugged. Shipping wasn't too bad considering the size.

I really wanted the tank, but definitely the deal was done when it included the winter transport truck. This thing is immense. Lots of play value, and also great for display and dioramas.
