Anyway, I've seen them hanging up at most secondary toy shops. In honor of their 30th anniversary, I decided to grab a few. They were around $5-7 each. Then I decided to grab as many as I could find. Then I decided to finish off the orange carded set from 1995 and 1996. I forget the specific order I purchased them in, so I will start with the original 12, the next 9 which made the first 21, then Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
The first set of Orange Cards only showed 8 figures on them. They did not display Princess Leia on the card back. Of the second three from the original series, a Jawa two pack was released, and a Tusken Raider, but no Death Squad Commander.
So here we go! The original 12....really 11.
I remember very vividly when these came out. I was never the hugest Star Wars fan, but did find myself wanting some after seeing them on display at Kay-Bee. Those orange cards might've been my favorite aspect of them. They just looked so good grouped together. If memory serves, I bought Darth Vader and the Jawas at full price, and then later on got a few more figures from the various waves once they started going on clearance.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I was so thrilled when these were released. Blew my mind when they made figures that weren't in the original 93.
