Wow! The only bad part about pre-posting so much is you get lazy when really cool stuff arrives. Received this for Christmas from my best friend who is also a toy collector. Probably why we have been friends since the second grade.
This is a boxed Fisher Price Adventure People Alpha Interceptor space set along with a carded X-Ray Woman. Wow! Just wow!
I have some ideas for this bad boy...and girl.
Holy crap thats cool! I had a diver with octopus that was one of my all time favorite figures as a kid, one day I need to get them again!
ReplyDeleteI had that diver set, too! He was wearing a metal looking old fashioned diving helmet, right?
DeleteI also had the little round spaceship from the top of this set. As a kid I was playing in a field behind our neighborhood and I found it just laying there. No one was around so it seemed quite abandoned. I sold it a few years back but for most of my childhood it was used for G.I.Joe figures and later Star Wars.
I had the Wilderness set and the Rescue Helicopter set as a kid. Never knew about the space figures; probably because Star Wars arrived, but they sure could go well together.
DeleteAP was the one line I never collected for some reason. I had friends that had them and I thought they were cool, especially the space/scifi stuff. Guess I was to focused on Star Wars lol
ReplyDeleteStar Wars definitely took over. There is a lot listed for cheap on Ebay though for Adventure People.
DeleteThis was kind of a grail piece for me, having one as a kid. I got mine a couple years back and still have it in my collection today. As a kid I would put my Secret Wars Captain America in the breakaway ship. Great set and gift, man!
ReplyDeleteThanks. These AP sets worked well with a lot of other things. I am working on a project right now to combine this AP space set with some other things.
DeleteThe only "Adventure People" I remember owning was Braindroid! He was such a great figure and could be used with any toyline back in the day. Would love to find a carded version of him to add to my old school toy collection!
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool. He is one that definitely goes for a nice penny these days. But people often come across him in a lot for cheap (not carded though).
