I don't know why, but I'm a sucker for a tin lunch box, especially if its got cool artwork and is Star Wars. Came across this fun beauty a few weeks back. I also like when the design is stamped into the metal.

George's Incredible Jigsaw Puzzles and Toy Dioramas
Tin lunchboxes are a thing of beauty. The originals are from before my time (all of my childhood lunchboxes were plastic or material) but I do have a few picked up as collectibles. My favorite is a Watchman lunchbox that has the Watchman on the front and the Minutemen on the back. it's such an odd juxtaposition of a traditionally kid focused object with an un-kidfriendly property. Almost like it came from an alternate universe where those heroes really existed.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds cool. I once went down the lunchbox rabbit hole on Ebay. Didn't buy anything but appreciated the art of them. The craziest one was the "V - Visitors" lunchbox. Saw two. Both were priced for $1000.
